David Vermaas

David Vermaas is leading a research group on CO₂ circularity and energy conversion at TU Delft. He has a cum laude PhD degree in chemical engineering, and is advisor and co-founder of start-up companies AquaBattery and SeaO₂. His research includes electrochemical CO₂ capture, CO₂ conversion, flow batteries and electrolysis.

He is collaborating with peers in academia and with industry, for example in the e-Refinery institute. He is also part of the multidisciplinary Energy Transition Accelerator Team and coordinates the Climate change Mitigation theme in the Climate Action program at TU Delft.
